About us
What we do
Simplicity
We like to cut through a lot of marketing hype & myths. Keeping knives and cutting tools sharp should be a simple and effective activity, enabling safe and efficient use by all without apprehension.
Precision & Repeatability
The cutting edges we create are extremely consistent, and are a mix of precision & art. We use angle controlled sharpening equipment that reduces operator error, and this ensures that edge angle we put on the heel, is the same all the way through to the tip.
Sustainability
No cheap and quick-fix temporary solutions that create dependance. We prefer durable and sustainable solutions that create independence. We do the heavy lifting & dirty work to elevate your knives to a state where you can easily maintain them on your own.
Who we are
Catalina Low

For over a decade, I worked in Singapore’s hospitality and tourism industry, ensuring guests had seamless experiences through attention to detail. After that, I spent years as a real estate agent, helping clients find homes with care and precision. Outside of work, I’m deeply involved in community volunteer work; engaging with elderly and disadvantaged communities in Singapore, which has taught me the value of practical solutions that make a real difference.
I see knife sharpening going beyond putting razor sharp edges on blades, but as an enabler for efficiency and waste reduction. I'm often surprised at how overlooked knives are in the kitchen, even by people who invested hundreds of dollars in premium brands. I've often come across exotic Japanese knives sent to us for sharpening, covered in rust and their cutting edges damaged with a $5 generic sharpener.
My passion is in creating holistic and durable solutions that enable independence, increase efficiency, and reducing waste. I do like the look of surprise when customers see a level of knife sharpness they've never experienced before. I bridge the highly technical nature of knife sharpening with customers looking for solutions.

I was an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operator in a past life that worked in parts of Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. I've been in the Singapore Armed Forces for slightly over a decade, and spent another decade working around the world with the United Nations.
The highly technical and precision nature of bomb disposal operations in my past life has definitely carried over to knife sharpening & maintenance. Seeing warped and dull knives restored to beyond factory standards, together with that distinct precision cutting edge... It truly is satisfying.
If I don't understand something well enough to explain it to you simply, then I'm not saying it. If you're looking for an artisanal story of obscure traditions, made up words and hyperbole, I'm not your guy.
